SIMBA: THE MINI-KITTY #7
This is my continuing post about our trip to Colorado.
The family found someone to buy our house. and then the chaos began. Wow, it takes people a long time to pack their things up. My things consisted of my food dishes and my litter box.
On the day Auntie and Momma Kat were getting ready to leave, they put me in a carrier (AKA prison) and took me to a doctor. WHY! I hate doctors. The doc gave me a once-over and then a couple of shots. “Ouch,” those hurt! Then Momma Kat placed me in the carrier and took me to the car.
I have never been a fan of going somewhere in a car. Most of the time, they have been short trips, but this time, they strapped down the carrier and headed out of town. They told me we were going to Colorado to see Daddy Steve.
I wondered how long this trip would be. I spent the next few hours in the car until they stopped in a little town called Price, Utah. They found a motel that allowed pets and unloaded the car. They let me out, and I immediately hid under a bed. I was not coming out; they could not make me.
I thought I had outsmarted them, but they just left me there. Where did they go? I crept out from under the bed, and they were gone. I felt so scared, but decided I would be okay if I lay on Auntie’s jacket.
They finally showed up. I wish I could speak their language because I really wanted them to know how they made me feel, leaving me alone in a strange place. I ranted at them in my voice. I think they kind of knew how I felt, because they held me and loved me for a while.
The next morning, Momma Kat hustled me into the carrier. Auntie and Momma Kat put everything into the car, and we were off again. How long was this going to take? As far as I was concerned, too long!
I tried to get comfortable and sleep as much as I could. This was not easy. A couple of times, they would stop the car for food or gas. They would let me out long enough to go to the porta-potty and eat a snack, then it was back into that stupid prison, oops, I meant carrier.
I decided I had had enough and started attacking the walls of the carrier. All of a sudden, I was covered up with the blanket. Auntie looked back and started to laugh. Momma Kat looked in the rearview mirror, and she began laughing.
She found a spot to pull over in and rescued me. I did not think this whole thing was that funny, but they thought it was. Momma Kat pulled off the road and untangled me. Once I was taken care of, we were off down the road again/
Finally, Momma Kat pulled the car into a strange-looking parking lot outside a building that was a place for them to spend a few weeks until they found a house for all of us. Daddy Steve joined us there. I was so happy to see him again.
I was allowed to stay in the room by myself whenever Momma Kat and Auntie went shopping or to look at homes for us to live in. I was okay with the situation, but I wanted more room to run around in.
Special invitation: Please check out the T-shirts my family has made. I’m on one of them. I think it would be fun if some of my followers bought one and shared a picture with me. The website is midwifehelensfamily.com, and Auntie's email is n.ann.lamphere@gmail.com (That’s to share the pictures.)
