While Auntie and Daddy "J" were waiting for the paperwork, they had me in a little room. I really like Daddy "J." He played with me and made me feel good.

Of course, my adoption took longer than it should have. An HS staff person came by the room where all of us were waiting and asked what my name was. Daddy “J” thought about it and told the worker my name was Simba. Evidently, I was not the one he was looking for, so he left. Turns out, he was looking for a kitten named “Shy.” Me!

It took over an hour for the staff to realize their mistake. The guy came back and asked if this kitten had been called “Shy?” Auntie laughed and admitted I was the one they were looking for. After that, all the paperwork was signed, and we headed to my forever home.

I did not know what to expect, but I soon realized my life would be changed forever. My new home had other cats living there. The older two were Robin (a Siamese) and Hugh (a black and white Tuxedo cat). There was a young Maine Coon named Romeo who was less than a year older than I was. Those cats were nice to me. Robin and Hugh were Auntie’s cats, and Romeo belonged to Daddy “J’s” sister. I could feel the love they had together.

The home was occupied by several humans who included Daddy “J’s” mom (Momma Kat), Dad (Daddy "S"), his sister, and Auntie. These people all seemed happy to have me around. It did not take me long until I felt safe and secure with them as well.

I would sometimes sleep with Daddy “J,” but most of the time I slept on Auntie’s bed with Robin and Hugh. It was always cozy there.

It was difficult for me when someone new came to visit. I would run and hide under Auntie’s bed. If no one tried to show me off, I might warily come out to see if it was safe. It usually was, but I could never be sure. If a stranger tried to pick me up, I would run and hide some more. I am still that way all these years later.

I have lots more to tell you. Please keep an eye out for my new posts.

See you soon, SIMBA
